The Napoleon 171 is based on an imposing 19th-century French fireplace in the Napoleon III style. A substantial moulded shelf crowns the inset frieze, centred by a diamond carving and flanked by matching brackets and corner blocks. Cascading acanthus leaves adorn the scrolled jambs, which terminate in magnificent lion-paw feet.
