St Catherine 150 • Fireplace Design
A 19th-century English fireplace in the late Victorian style, the St Catherine 150 design is an exceptional example of the highly decorative mantels from the period. The fireplace features a substantial moulded shelf, a central panel depicting a quiver and arrows set amongst rosebuds, ribbons, insects, and trailing leaves, stylised floral palmette corner blocks and intricate foliate capitals, tapering panelled jambs adorned with floral motifs and ribbons, and a finely carved entwined stem moulding around the opening.
