A 19th-century French fireplace in the Louis XIV style, the Montaigne 6 in White Statuary Marble is a fine example of the Baroque influence typical of the period. It features a rectangular, moulded shelf, a scallop shell cartouche, a frieze decorated with acanthus brackets, and voluted, panelled jambs.
