Modern and contemporary fireplace surrounds are well suited to most interiors for those looking for a simpler alternative to the classical or period styles. While a number of these designs have been made using Turkish and Italian limestone, marble is often the go-to material for these styles. Arabescato marble is especially popular as the natural variation in the colouring and vein through the stone create a more dramatic effect.
